The sixth question of Fatwa No. ( 14428 )
Q6: A woman says that ever since fasting became obligatory upon her, she has been fasting in Ramadan, but she has not made up the fasting for the days she broke her fast due to menstruation , and because she does not know the number of days she broke her fast, she is asking to be guided to what is obligatory for her to do now?
A6: It is obligatory for the woman mentioned to make up the number of days she broke her fast from the month of Ramadan in past years, and to feed a poor person for each day she makes up, the amount of half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the country; this is because she delayed making up the fast until after another Ramadan.
