Question:
The questioner: At the beginning of my life, I was excused by the Shari'ah, but I did not make up the days I missed in Ramadan due to my ignorance of many rulings and of what women are excused from. Now I want to make up those days, but I do not know their number or how many they are. How do you guide me, and am I required to do anything else besides fasting? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
You must repent to Allah with sincere repentance, truthfulness, regret, and sorrow for what happened to you, and with a firm resolve not to return to it. You must make up the days according to your estimate. If you do not know, you must act on your estimate. You calculate the days that are upon you, whether twenty days, thirty days, or forty days that you missed from Ramadan. You must make them up, along with feeding one poor person for each day if you are able.
As for if you are poor and cannot afford it, then fasting is sufficient. But with the ability, you feed one poor person for each day, one and a half kilograms for each day, which is half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg). So for two days, it is one sa', and for four days, it is two sa', and so on. You give it to some of the poor, before fasting or after fasting. Even if it is to one poor person, you collect it and give it to one or two poor people, or to a poor family, and that is sufficient, and praise be to Allah, along with repentance, seeking forgiveness, regret, and not returning to it. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
