The first question of Fatwa No. ( 14241 )
Q1: I like to fast on Mondays and Thursdays of every week; because on those two days deeds are presented to Allah, Mighty and Majestic; due to the saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan an-Nasa'i 2358Hasan (Darussalam) So is it permissible for me to fast on Mondays and Thursdays of every month, and I am in the time of summer (the heat) where the heat is severe on me so I cannot fast every week, or should I fast in the winter (the cold) on Mondays and Thursdays of every week? Please inform us, may Allah reward you, and may Allah reward us with the best reward.
A1: He (peace and blessings be upon him), when he performed an act, would persist in it, but if hardship befalls you in fasting on those days you mention, then there is no harm in leaving them
in the summer and fasting them in the winter; because fasting on Mondays and Thursdays is a voluntary act, not obligatory, so whoever fasts obtains its reward, and whoever leaves it does not obtain its reward, but he does not sin by leaving it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

Those are two days in which deeds are shown to the Lord of the worlds, and I like my deeds to be shown (to Him) when I am fasting.
