As for fasting on Monday, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was asked about fasting on it, and he said:

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
These two chapters were established by the author, al-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him), in his book *Riyad al-Salihin*, in explaining the virtue of fasting on Monday and Thursday, and three days of every month:
As for fasting on Monday, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
He was asked about its fasting, and he said: "That is the day I was born in, and I was sent, or revelation was sent down to me in it." سئل عن صومه فقال : ذاك يوم ولدت فيه وبعثت أو أُنزل عليّ فيه
And he also died in it, peace and blessings be upon him. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was born on a Monday, but it is not clear in which month; whether it was in the month of Rabi' al-Awwal or another, and whether it was on the twelfth day of it or another. What is confirmed is that he was born on a Monday, peace and blessings be upon him.
Likewise, revelation was sent down to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), meaning the first of the Qur'an was sent down to him on a Monday. The narrator was uncertain whether he said:
Revelation was sent down, or I was sent. أنزل أو بعثت
There is a difference between the two, because the Qur'an was sent down to him before he was sent as a prophet. The surah
(1) Recite in the name of your Lord who created - (2) Created man from a clinging substance. (3) Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - (4) Who taught by the pen - (5) Taught man that which he knew not. اقرأ باسم ربك الذي خلق * خلق الإنسان من علق * اقرأ وربك الأكرم * الذي علم بالقلم * علم الإنسان ما لم يعلم
[Al-'Alaq 96:1-5]
was sent down to him, and by this he became a prophet, and it was sent down to him.
As for the sending (ba'th), which is the dispatch, it was only by the saying of the Exalted:
(1) O you who covers himself [with a garment], (2) Arise and warn (3) And your Lord glorify (4) And your clothing purify (5) And uncleanliness avoid أيها المدثر * قم فأنذر * وربك فكبر * وثيابك فطهر * والرجز فاهجر
[Al-Muddaththir 74:1-5]
: And this was after the first. In any case, this is an occasion that gave this day noble and great connections: the birth of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and the sending down of revelation to him, or his dispatch to the people.
