Ruling on repeating invocations while carrying the funeral

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q557: The questioner, a resident of the Eastern Region named Mustafa al-Masri, asks: What is the ruling on repeating invocations while carrying the funeral, and what is the ruling on eating the food of the bereaved family?
A557: Raising the voice over the funeral with dhikr or otherwise has no basis. What is required is tranquility at the funeral, not raising voices, and making du'a for the deceased without raising the voice. This is what is prescribed. As for raising voices with the funerals, this is among the newly invented religious innovations. As for eating food from the family of the deceased, this contradicts the Sunnah. The Sunnah is the opposite: that food is prepared for the family of the deceased to the extent of their need, because they are occupied with their calamity. As for the family of the deceased preparing food for people and serving it to them, this is contrary to the Sunnah.

The Sunnah is the opposite: that food is prepared for the people of the deceased to the extent of their need, because they are occupied with their calamity. As for the people of the deceased being the ones who prepare food for people and serve it to them, this is contrary to the Sunnah.
