The 'Aqiqah performed for children who have passed the age of two years

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18898 )
Q2: What is the ruling regarding the 'Aqiqah performed for children who have passed the age of two years in its distribution without inviting anyone to it? It is known that some have said: It is necessary to invite people to it when the children grow up.
A2: The 'Aqiqah is a confirmed recommended practice (sunnah) for the newborn, starting from his seventh day, and there is no harm in slaughtering it even after two years, whether it is distributed as meat or as a feast, or a feast is prepared and people are invited to it. If one gives it in charity, or part of it, or invites people to it, there is no harm in that; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not specify a time limit for it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
