Q1: I have been assigned by my job to work in the Sacred Precincts during the Hajj period this year, and this is a great opportunity I have always wished for to serve the pilgrims of the House of Allah. Since my work area and residence are outside Makkah al-Mukarramah , I will take my family to Makkah to stay with my wife's brother until I finish my task, and then I will return to my residential area. My question is: What should I do with my 'Id sacrifice? Should I give one of my neighbors in my residential area the value of the sacrifice, and he acts on my behalf in slaughtering it and distributing it according to custom? Or should I slaughter it myself in the Sacred Precincts? Or should I entrust my wife's brother, with whom my family is staying, to do so because of their presence there? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward.
A1: It is the Sunnah to slaughter the 'Id sacrifice in the house where your family resides so that they may eat from it and give charity, and it is permissible to entrust someone to slaughter it in your country. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
