The first question of Fatwa number ( 14091 )
Q1: I am an eighteen-year-old student, and praise be to Allah. In the past month of Ramadan, I was traveling in a truck (a lorry) to an area that does not reach the distance at which a fasting person breaks his fast. So I traveled while fasting, and when I arrived at that area, I felt extreme thirst and broke my fast. Do I have to make up the day only, or make up the day and pay an expiation together? ?
A1: If you broke your fast because of extreme thirst, you must make up the day for the day you broke. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
