The Manner of Shaving the Head

The first and third questions of Fatwa No. ( 17832 )
Q1: In the past, and until recently, when a pilgrim among us performed Hajj, he would take a little from the front or back of his head hair, and when he threw the first stone at the Jamarat al-Aqabah on the first day to break his state of ihram, he did so out of ignorance. I did this before getting married, and years later I married, praise be to Allah. I heard that someone in my situation is still in a state of ihram and that his marriage contract is invalid, and that he must renew the marriage contract after learning of this; since it is necessary to shave or shorten the hair to break the state of ihram, whether for Hajj or 'Umrah. Is this correct?
A1 : It is obligatory to shorten the hair from the entire head and from all sides. The shortening you did previously from only the front of the head out of ignorance, we hope there is no blame on you for that, and the marriage is valid.
Q2: A young man performed Hajj with us for the first obligatory Hajj, and when he threw the first stone at the first Jamarat al-Aqabah on the first day, he did not perform the Tawaf al-Ifadah. He stayed in Mina for the remaining days until the last day of Hajj, and he did not throw the remaining stones himself but delegated it to someone else. The reason is that he suffers from a mental illness that afflicts him at times. It is known that he performed the Tawaf of arrival—and his Hajj was Ifrad—and stood at 'Arafah. We tried by every means to convince him to perform the Tawaf of Ifadah, even on a wooden platform, because it is a pillar of Hajj as is well known, but he insisted on not entering the Haram at all due to his illness. After he returned to their home outside the Miqat and that fear and feeling subsided,
he returned in the first week, entered the state of ihram, and performed the Tawaf of Ifadah. During this period, he did not approach any of the prohibitions of ihram until he performed the Tawaf and exited the state of ihram with the greater exit. Is his Hajj valid, especially since what he did was beyond his control and due to the severe pain and illness that we know about him?

A2 : If the matter is as described, then there is nothing on the young man mentioned if he has performed the Sa'y of Hajj with the Tawaf of arrival or the Tawaf of Ifadah; because he has done what is obligatory upon him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
