The third question from Fatwa number ( 17572 )
Q3: Is it permissible for one who wants to perform 'Umrah while traveling by plane to declare his intention for 'Umrah only without wearing the ihram garments, because he wants to attend to some of his business in the city of Jeddah , and after finishing his work, he enters the state of ihram from Jeddah and goes to perform 'Umrah , or what is obligatory upon him?
A3 : If one begins a journey intending to perform a rite of Hajj or 'Umrah, it is not permissible for him to pass the miqat without being in the state of ihram for what he intended, having removed the sewn garments, and avoiding the prohibitions of ihram. Therefore: It is not permissible for you to do what you mentioned in the aforementioned question, as it contradicts the ruling of the Shari'ah. However, there is no harm in going to Jeddah not in the state of ihram to attend to his needs, then returning to the miqat to enter the state of ihram from there for his Hajj or 'Umrah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
