Explaining the Impact of Sorcery on the Individual and Society

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q145: The questioner says: What is the treatment for sorcery of denial? And what is the ruling on performing sorcery to prevent a girl from marrying or to deter her from it?
A145: Sorcery is a serious disease and a serious affliction for the individual and society. It should not be left for sorcerers to spread corruption in society; they must be dealt with firmly, and their harm must be stopped from the people. However, a person should not have excessive fear and obsessions, such that whenever something happens to him, he says, "This is sorcery." Rather, if he feels the effects of sorcery, he should treat it with the prescribed ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) and with permissible, tested medicines. And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He),
He did not send down a disease except that He sent down for it a cure, which some know and some do not knowما أنزل داءً إلاَّ أنزل له دواءً، عَلِمَهُ مَنْ عَلِمَهُ، وَجَهِلَهُ مَنْ جَهِلَهُ
