Spending zakah on the construction of a mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15371 )
Q: There is a mosque in our village and a room for memorizing the Qur'an, and there is an urgent need for an imam for this mosque, as the mosque needs renovation and the construction of a room for teaching the Qur'an. Since the people of the village cannot build this mosque and room, and the religious affairs department in this country is unable to do so, is it permissible to spend zakah on money and gold on such a noble work? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A: It is not permissible to spend zakah on the things you mentioned, because they are not among the eight categories of zakah spending mentioned in the Book of Allah the Exalted. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
