The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19470 )
Q 2: A man paid a sum of money, amounting to (563) riyals, in order to contribute to the construction of a mosque, but the construction of this mosque was not completed. Is it permissible to spend this amount on another charitable project? It is known that the owners of this amount are not identified.
A 2: It is obligatory to spend the amount on what its owners, the donors, designated it for, and it is not permissible to spend it in another field. Rather, it should be spent on the needs of any mosque in order to fulfill the intention of the donors. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
