The second question of Fatwa number ( 21003 )
Q2: There isa joint family consisting of a father, a mother, brothers, and sisters. The father and the brothers all earn, trade, buy, and sell, so a large portion of the household income comes from what the brothers earn. Does the sister inherit only from her father, or also from her brothers' wealth?Given that the wealth is shared and they do not have individual ownership? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.
A2: A woman inherits from the wealth of her relative when he dies; from a father, a brother, a son, or anyone else, according to what Allah has prescribed for her, as He the Exalted said:[An-Nisa 4:7] Even if the woman does not earn, and preventing women from inheriting was a practice of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance that Islam abolished. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
