Repeating the Prayer with the Congregation
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18426 )
Q2: I own a farm located three kilometers from the town, and I sometimes stay there until after the adhan, then I pray there. At other times, when I return home, I find that the town mosque is performing the iqamah for prayer. Is my prayer there permissible, or is it obligatory for me to repeat the prayer with the congregation , given that I caught up with it upon my return? Please note that the imam of this mosque may be late in arriving at the mosque, in which case someone else leads the prayer after waiting for him.
Praying for someone else after waiting for him.
A2: If you prayed in your farm or on the road, and then you arrived in the town and found the people praying, you do not repeat the prayer unless you enter the mosque while the prayer is being established. In that case, you pray with them, and it counts as a voluntary prayer. This is based on the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that whoever prays in his home and then enters the mosque while the prayer is being established should pray with them, and it will be a voluntary prayer for him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
