Ruling on repeating the obligatory prayer in congregation in the mosque for one who prayed it at home

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The first message in this episode is from one of our brother listeners, (Hassan M.) from Sudan. He asks and says: A man prayed the 'Asr prayer at his home, then went to the market and found the people praying 'Asr in the mosque. Should he pray with them again, or is the first prayer sufficient? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows, it is obligatory for him to pray with the congregation, and it is not permissible for him to pray in his home. Rather, he must pray with the congregation and beware of the characteristics of the hypocrites. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever hears the call for prayer and and does not come (to the mosque for prayer), his prayer will not be accepted from him, unless he has a (legitimate) excuse.من سمع النداء فلم يأت فلا صلاة له إلا من عذر
Bulugh al-Maram 2:308
It was asked of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): What is the excuse? He said: Fear or illness. And a blind man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said:
O Messenger of Allah! I have no guide to lead me to the mosque. Do I have a dispensation to pray in my house? He said to him, may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him: Do you hear the call to prayer? He said: Yes. He said: Then respond.
.
This was a blind man who had no guide, and yet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Respond." So how about others? And if one prays in his home and then comes to a mosque where they are praying, it is prescribed for him to pray with them. Otherwise, his prayer is sufficient but he is sinful, being sinful for leaving the congregation without an excuse. But if he prays with them, it will be a voluntary prayer, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded this. He commanded the one who has prayed the prayer and then attends another prayer to pray with them, so it is a voluntary prayer; it becomes a voluntary prayer for him.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
