The third question of the fatwa number ( 17549 )
Q 3: How do we combine the hadith:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 247Sahih (Darussalam) , and the hadith: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 524Sahih (Darussalam) And is it obligatory to recite the opening of the Book in every unit ? Answer us, may Allah preserve you, the Exalted.
A 3: There is no contradiction between the obligation of reciting the opening of the Book in the prayer and
catching up the unit by catching up the bowing; because in this case it is dropped from the one who joins late due to the loss of its place, which is standing, and it is a pillar in every unit of the prayer for the imam and the one praying alone, and it is obligatory for the one praying behind the imam, and it is dropped from him if he forgets or is ignorant or does not catch up with the imam's recitation, as narrated by al-Bukhari in (his Sahih) and he did not order him to make up the unit, which indicates the dropping of the recitation of the opening of the Book from the one praying behind the imam in such a situation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
Q 3: How do we combine the hadith:
There is no Salat for the one who does not recite Fatihatil-Kitab.
لا صلاة لمن لم يقرأ بفاتحة الكتاب"Whoever catches a Rak'ah of the Salat then he has caught the Salat."
من أدرك من الصلاة ركعة فقد أدرك الصلاةA 3: There is no contradiction between the obligation of reciting the opening of the Book in the prayer and
catching up the unit by catching up the bowing; because in this case it is dropped from the one who joins late due to the loss of its place, which is standing, and it is a pillar in every unit of the prayer for the imam and the one praying alone, and it is obligatory for the one praying behind the imam, and it is dropped from him if he forgets or is ignorant or does not catch up with the imam's recitation, as narrated by al-Bukhari in (his Sahih)
It was narrated from Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the mosque and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was bowing, so he bowed before reaching the row, then he entered the row. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him after the closing salam: May Allah increase you in eagerness, and do not do it again.
