Q: What is the ruling on one who performs wudu for prayer and then washes his body with water ? Please answer us, may you be rewarded?
A: If a person performs wudu for prayer and then decides to wash his body with water, there is no harm in that, whether he washes to cool off, to clean himself, or for something similar. His wudu is not invalidated by this, provided he does not touch his major private parts (the penis and the anus); because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 181Sahih (Al-Albani) It was narrated by the five and graded authentic by al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban , and al-Bukhari said: It is the most authentic thing in this chapter. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
