Reciting the Qur'an on behalf of the deceased

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q4: Is it permissible to recite the Qur'an on behalf of the deceased, as well as to give charity, take care of orphans, and perform other good deeds with the intention of earning good deeds for him? If not, what is the method?
A4: It is prescribed to give charity on behalf of the deceased, to contribute to charitable projects for him, and to make du'a' for him; based on the hadith of A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her)
a person came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: My mother died suddenly without having made any will. I think she would have definitely given Sadaqa if she had been able to speak. Would she have a reward if I gave Sadaqa on her behalf? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes.
Sahih Muslim 1004a
. It is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. As for reciting the Qur'an and dedicating its reward to the deceased, there is scholarly disagreement among the scholars, and restricting oneself to what is mentioned in the aforementioned hadith is preferable.
