Fasting and bowing for a pregnant woman
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18804 )
Q3: Is it permissible for a pregnant woman to fast, and how does she bow when her belly becomes large?
A3 : It is obligatory for a pregnant woman to fast, unless she fears harm to herself or to her fetus. In that case, she breaks her fast and makes up the days from other days. However, if she breaks her fast out of fear for the fetus, she must make up the days and feed one poor person for every day. It is obligatory for her to prostrate on the ground; if she is unable to do so, she should indicate prostration with her head while sitting. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
