The mu'adhdhin's sending blessings upon the Prophet after finishing the adhan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17414 )
Q 2: Some mu'adhdhins, after finishing the adhan, continue and send blessings upon the Prophet after the adhan , and some of them say: "Blessings and peace be upon you, O one with the beautiful face, and blessings and peace, O light of the Throne of Allah..." and so on. We told them: This is a bid'ah (religious innovation). He said: You dislike the Prophet, and you are Sunnis, and you are Wahhabis, named after Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab . You dislike Muhammad and do not send blessings upon him?
A 2: Sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is prescribed (mashru') and has great virtue, but it is not done in the circumstances and times for which it was not reported, such as what is done after finishing the adhan in the manner mentioned in the question, for this is a forbidden bid'ah (religious innovation) and an addition to the adhan. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1718b And the Sunnah (recommended practice) for the Muslim when he hears it is to respond to the mu'adhdhin by saying what the mu'adhdhin says, except in the "hi'alah" (the call to prayer and success), which is saying: "Hayya 'ala al-salah, hayya 'ala al-falah" (Come to prayer, come to success), where he says: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power nor strength except with Allah). Then, after finishing the adhan, the mu'adhdhin and the listener send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the manner reported from him, (peace and blessings be upon him). Among these is: As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 5:436 , and if one shortens it and says: "O Allah, send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah," that is sufficient, not with the innovated attributes mentioned. Then he says: Sahih al-Bukhari 4719 . As for doing this in a loud voice or in a collective manner, it is a bid'ah (religious innovation) that is not permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected.
من عمل عملاً ليس عليه أمرنا فهو ردO Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. And send peace upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent peace upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim, for You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
O Allah, the Lord of this complete call and of this prayer, which is going to be established! Give Muhammad Al-Wasila and Al-Fadila and raise him to Al-Maqam-al-Mahmud which You have promised him
اللهم رب هذه الدعوة التامة، والصلاة القائمة، آت محمدًا الوسيلة والفضيلة، وابعثه مقامًا محمودًا الذي وعدته، إنك لا تخلف الميعاد
