Q 1: In the Pakistan region of Dera , some reciters walk around the houses on the night of the 23rd of Ramadan to recite the Qur'an , specifically reciting Surah Yasin, al-Ankabut, and Ta-Ha in exchange for a sum of money. What is the ruling on doing such things?
A 1 : This practice is a religious innovation (bid'ah) with no basis in the Book or the Sunnah, so it is obligatory to abandon it and warn against it; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Muslim 1718b, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani), narrated by Muslim in his (Sahih). And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
