Protecting mosques from the mischief and disturbance of children
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 14313 )
Q 1: In our village, there is a man who brings his young sons, who have not yet reached the age of seven, to the mosque. Sometimes they cause some disturbance to the worshippers, and the worshippers lose their humility in their prayer. When some of the brothers advised him not to bring his sons, he said that in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they used to bring their children to the mosque, and that the Messenger would not lengthen the prayer when he heard the crying of children. What is the ruling on this? We ask for clarification.
A 1: It is obligatory to protect mosques from the mischief and disturbance of children, because they are built for worship. And whoever brings his children to train them in prayer must be careful with them, and also train them not to misbehave or play with the mosques or the Qur’ans present in the mosque. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
