The Prayer-Goer’s Choice of Certain Mosques for the Tarawih Prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second and fourth questions of Fatwa No. ( 16843 )
Q 2: Some Muslims do not pray on Friday, on the two Eids, or for the Ramadan Tarawih in this mosque; instead, they go to other mosques. This is because these two imams are not well-versed in the Prophetic hadiths, nor are they bearers of the Book of Allah, as they are teachers in an Arabic language school for Arabs, and in a Turkish language school for Turks. Is there a sin on the one who leaves this mosque and goes to another?
A 2: It is better for the Muslim to pray behind the imam who is proficient in establishing the prayer, whether that imam is in the mosque adjacent to his residence or elsewhere, provided that his going to a mosque far from his residence does not result in harm, such as
causing embarrassment to the imam of the adjacent mosque or his congregation by leaving them for others.
