Then: The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has reviewed the letter sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from His Excellency: the Director of the Dawah and Guidance Center in the province of Jeddah , bearing reference number (267\9\20\J), and referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars with number
(3348) and date 24\5\1419 AH. The questioner asked a question, the text of which is as follows: His Eminence Shaykh 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz , Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , may Allah preserve him. Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings. Then, O beloved: The representative of the Endowments and Mosques Department in the province of Jeddah visited us, accompanied by a picture and plan of a mosque affiliated with Al-Salamah Hospital in Jeddah . The representative requested a fatwa regarding the shape of the mosque, because the mosque was designed in the shape of the Name of Allah (Allah) before construction began. Therefore, we submit this matter to Your Eminence for a fatwa. Attached to this letter are the picture and plan of the mosque. May Allah grant you continued health and well-being, and benefit us with your knowledge. May Allah preserve and protect you. Peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.
