The vision attributed to the attendant of the Prophet’s chamber

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 8086 ):
Q: It contains advice from Makkah al-Mukarramah that the pilgrim Abdullah ibn Mustafa said: I was sleeping and I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordering me to convey this message to the Muslims regarding cooperation and faith. Whoever reads this message must write it eight times, and whoever does not distribute it will be punished with illness, and whoever distributes it will be happy after ten days. If I am lying, I will die upon the religion of disbelief. Is this statement true or false? Is it forbidden or permissible for people who go to graves to visit them, bringing with them chickens or a sheep, and slaughtering around the dome where the deceased is, saying that the deceased is a guardian?
A: First: This vision is invalid and has no basis; it is of the same kind as
the vision attributed to the attendant of the Prophet’s chamber. His Eminence the Shaykh Abdullah ibn Baz has previously written a lengthy text on this, which was published in local newspapers and elsewhere. Second: Circumambulating graves is forbidden, and if the intention is to draw near to the deceased within them, it is major shirk (associating partners with Allah) that takes one out of Islam; because circumambulation is an act of worship; as Allah the Exalted said:
perform Tawaf around the ancient House."وَلْيَطَّوَّفُوا بِالْبَيْتِ الْعَتِيقِ
[Al-Hajj 22:29]
And directing worship, or any part of it, to other than Allah is shirk. Third: Slaughtering at graves is forbidden, and if the intention is to draw near to the owner of the grave, it is major shirk; as Allah the Glorious said:
(162) Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. (163) No partner has He. And this I have been commanded, and I am the first [among you] of the Muslims."
[Al-An'am 6:162-163]
And the ritual sacrifice is slaughtering. And as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah cursed him who sacrificed for anyone besides Allahلعن الله من ذبح لغير الله
Sahih Muslim 1978b
It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. And success is from Allah. May Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
