Explanation of the Book of the Adhan-08b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, saying: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us from al-A'mash from Ibrahim from al-Aswad from A'ishah, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became seriously ill, Bilal came to call him to prayer. He said:
Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer مروا أبا بكر أن يصلي بالناس
Sahih al-Bukhari 713
I said: "O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr is a weeping man, and whenever he stands in your place, the people will not hear him. Why don't you order 'Umar?" He said:
Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer مروا أبا بكر يصلي بالناس
Sahih al-Bukhari 716
I said to Hafdah: "Tell him that Abu Bakr is a weeping man, and whenever he stands in your place, the people will not hear him. Why don't you order 'Umar?" He said:
Verily you are the companions of Joseph. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer. إنكن لأنتن صواحب يوسف مروا أبا بكر أن يصلي بالناس
Sahih al-Bukhari 713
When he entered the prayer, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) felt some relief in himself, so he stood up, supported between two men, his feet dragging on the ground, until he entered the mosque. When Abu Bakr heard his sound, Abu Bakr tried to step back, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came until he sat to the left of Abu Bakr. So Abu Bakr was praying standing, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying sitting. Abu Bakr was following the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the people were following the prayer of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).

The Shaykh : And this hadith is a corroborating narration for the heading: "A man leads the imam, and the followers follow the man." The hadith is clear in this regard. The following (i'timam) here does not mean that they take this messenger as their imam, but rather they follow his voice and keep in step with him. Otherwise, the followers believe that their imam is the first one, but they follow the voice. Okay, yes.

The questioner : ... that her father does not lead the people in prayer?

The Shaykh : Yes, pass by us while you are in Egypt. And for this reason, refer to the tapes with Musa. Yes.
