The Steadfastness of Abu Bakr at the Death of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The second issue is regarding the death of the Messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). All the Companions were terrified until they heard the verse from Abu Bakr, as if it had not been revealed before. Abu Bakr remained steadfast, even though I believe he was the most grieved of the Companions by the death of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), because he was his companion and because Abu Bakr was the intimate friend (khalil) of the Messenger (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). That is, Abu Bakr took the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as his intimate friend, whereas the Messenger did not take him as such, because he said:
If I were to take a Khalil, I would have taken Abu Bakr لو كنت متخذا من أمتي خليلا لاتخذت أبا بكر
