The Claim That the Qur'an Is Created
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 11864 )
Q1: Some people say that the Qur'an is created, while others say: it is the speech of Allah. This is a dispute that has taken place between two Islamic scholars, some saying: it is created, and the other saying: it is speech from Allah. I was not convinced by what I found in (Kitab al-Hidayah), so I hope for clarification of that.
A1 : The Qur'an is the speech of Allah in its letters and meanings, and it is not created. It began from Him and to Him it returns. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Waqi'ah 56:77-80] , and He said: [As-Sajdah 32:1-2] , and He the Exalted said: [Ash-Shu'ara 26:192-195] , and He the Exalted said: [At-Tawbah 9:6] , and it is only the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who hears the Qur'an from them.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

A1 : The Qur'an is the speech of Allah in its letters and meanings, and it is not created. It began from Him and to Him it returns. Allah the Exalted said:
(77) Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an (78) In a Register well-protected; (79) None touch it except the purified. (80) [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
(1) Alif, Lam, Meem. (2) [This is] the revelation of the Book about which there is no doubt from the Lord of the worlds.
(192) And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. (193) The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down (194) Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - (195) In a clear Arabic language.
And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection, then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
