The third question of Fatwa No. ( 18776 )
Q3: Allah the Exalted said:
And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah willsوَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَصَعِقَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ إِلا مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
[Az-Zumar 39:68]
. And He said in another verse:
Everything will be destroyed except His Face
[Al-Qasas 28:88]
. Explain to me the meaning of these two verses.

A3: The saying of Allah the Exalted:
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
[An-Naml 27:87]
informs us, Glory be to Him, of the Blowing of Terror, which is the blowing that occurs at the end of the world, and it is the Blowing of Fainting. Israfil (peace be upon him) will blow into the Trumpet, which is the horn, by the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). When it is blown into, everyone in the heavens and the earth will be terrified, except for whom Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has exempted. This blowing is the Blowing of Fainting, in which all people will die. Then the second blowing will occur for the rising of people from the graves, as in His saying, the Exalted:
And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on.
[Az-Zumar 39:68]
. And His saying, the Exalted:
Everything will be destroyed except His Face. His is the judgement, and to Him you will be returned.
[Al-Qasas 28:88]
informs us, Glory and Exaltation be to Him, that He is the Living One who remains, and that everything other than Him is perishing, as in His saying, the Exalted:
He is the First and the Lastهُوَ الأَوَّلُ وَالآخِرُ
[Al-Hadid 57:3]
He is the First before everything, and He is the Last after everything.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
