Q: A man stood on the pulpit and said in the Friday sermon: When the Chosen One (peace and blessings be upon him) was born, he said that he spoke after coming out of his mother’s womb. But I do not remember what he said. Then he said: When his mother was pregnant with him, Adam (peace be upon him) came to her in the first month and gave her glad tidings that he would be the Prophet of this Ummah. In the second month, Noah (peace be upon him) came, then Idris in the third, Hud in the fourth, Salih in the fifth, Ibrahim in the sixth, Isma'il in the seventh, Musa in the eighth, and Isa (peace and blessings be upon them and our Prophet) in the ninth. He then elaborated on this topic and spoke about the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) mother, saying more than once Aminah bint Wahb (may Allah be pleased with her). Is she a believer?
A: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was born just as all other human beings are born, from a father and a mother. It is not established that he spoke in the cradle; rather, this is a lie and a fabrication. All that was mentioned regarding the prophets coming to the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) mother is all lies and falsehood. Allah took a covenant from the prophets (peace and blessings be upon them) that if
Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) were sent, they would believe in him, and the prophets took a covenant from their people to do the same, as the Exalted said:[Ali 'Imran 3:81]. The last one to give glad tidings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him), as in His saying: [As-Saf 61:6]. The Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) mother died and did not reach the time of the Prophet’s mission. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) sought permission from his Lord to visit his mother, and He granted it to him. He sought permission to seek forgiveness for her, but He did not grant it to him. This indicates that the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) mother died upon other than Islam. And Allah the Exalted knows best. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], "Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him." [Allah] said, "Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?" They said, "We have acknowledged it." He said, "Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses."
