Defining the Awliya
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q331: The questioner asks: Are there awliya (close friends of Allah) in our present time, or were the awliya only in the era of the messengers and those who were with them? Or those who came after them? Who is a wali in the view of the Shari'ah? And does he have conditions?
A331: Allah the Exalted said:[Yunus 10:62-63], in which He the Exalted clarified who the awliya of Allah are; they are the believers who are mindful of Him; so every believer who is mindful of Allah is a wali of Allah the Exalted, and they are found in every time, from the era of Adam to the end of the world.
A331: Allah the Exalted said:
(62) Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve (63) Those who believed and were fearing Allah
