Collective supplication after the prayer
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 16396 )
Q2: In Ramadan, during fasting, after the Zuhr, 'Asr, and Fajr prayers, or any obligatory prayer in Ramadan, especially immediately after breaking the fast, we recite the following supplication: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I seek Allah's forgiveness, we ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire." Three times. And we say: "O Allah, You are the Pardoner, the Generous, You love to pardon, so pardon us, O Generous One." Three times. Then: "Glory be to Allah, and to You is all praise." But the scholars of the recent era have said: Any collective supplication is not permissible, or loud recitation is not permissible; rather, each person should supplicate for himself, and the supplication should be made in secret.
A2: Collective supplication after the prayer is a religious innovation with no basis in the Shari'ah. What is prescribed is dhikr, and the supplication that has come down, recited by each worshipper individually after the taslim. And Allah knows best.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
