Q 8: What should I do with my father? Because of his bad character, he constantly speaks ill in ugly terms—meaning: regarding private parts and intercourse (zina)—and curses, even cursing the religion, accompanied by intense anger. He gets angry even with small children of one, two, or three years old. Should I boycott him?
A 8 : Cursing the Islamic religion is open disbelief, may Allah protect us from it, and speaking ill in ugly terms is a major sin among the major sins. Therefore, it is obligatory for you to advise him, clarify this ruling to him, call him to sincere repentance, and be patient with him, perhaps Allah will guide him; for Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:[Luqman 31:14-15] .
May Allah reform you and help you in doing good. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

(14) And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. (15) But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَهْنًا عَلَى وَهْنٍ وَفِصَالُهُ فِي عَامَيْنِ أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْكَ إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ (14) وَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ عَلَى أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّMay Allah reform you and help you in doing good. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
