Q: I have been a Muslim since I was 15 years old, but my parents are not Muslims. Islam has commanded us to be kind to our parents, while at the same time forbidding us from visiting non-Muslims. I am very anxious about this matter. If my father or mother, or one of them, were to pass away before me, what should I do in this situation?
A: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has commanded kindness to disbelieving parents, provided there is no obedience to them in disobedience to Allah, and no love for them in the heart. He the Exalted said:[Luqman 31:14-15]
And He the Exalted said:[Al-Mujadila 58:22] the verse. It is obligatory for the child to be kind to his disbelieving parents by providing for them if they are in need, by treating them with good conduct, and by inviting them to Allah. If they die upon disbelief, he should attend to their funeral matters, and their disbelieving relatives will inherit from them, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sunan al-Bayhaqi 9:565 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

A: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has commanded kindness to disbelieving parents, provided there is no obedience to them in disobedience to Allah, and no love for them in the heart. He the Exalted said:
(14) And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. (15) But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
And He the Exalted said:
You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons
A disbeliever does not inherit from a Muslim, nor does a Muslim inherit from a disbeliever.
