Q: When the Qur'an is recited over a patient (who has his eyes closed and is fully conscious), he sees something of his sorcery, or the sorcerer, or the place of the sorcery, or the one who cast the evil eye. Our question is: Is this considered knowledge of the unseen or not?
A : The patient seeing the one who bewitched him, or the sorcerer, or the place of the sorcery, or
The one who claims to know the unseen by reading the Qur'an over a patient is not considered to be looking into the unseen, but whoever believes that he knows the unseen because of that is a disbeliever; for knowledge of the unseen is the exclusive right of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), so no one among His creation knows it except what Allah has revealed to whom He wills of His angels and messengers. Allah the Exalted said:[An-Naml 27:65], and His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He): [Al-An'am 6:59]. What happens to the patient of this type is due to the influence of the jinn and their deception of the children of Adam, and it only occurs because the readers seek the aid of the jinn, even though they appear to be reading the Qur'an and the noble hadith to mislead and confuse the ignorant, the common people, and the simple-minded, and to make them believe that their reading is beneficial. They then take their money and exploit them for their own interests and desires, and in reality, they are among the fortune-tellers and diviners. And even if they are truthful in that sometimes and the reality becomes as the patient saw it, he should not rely on it, be deceived by it, believe in its truth, or accuse people based on that alone, for it has no reality and no basis in the Shari'ah, but it is from the influence of the jinn as mentioned before. We advise you not to pay attention to illusions that may affect your faith and become a cause of cutting off your family ties and harming people, but rather to turn to Allah the Exalted and seek His aid alone in removing your harm, and not
to hope for anything but Allah, and not to cling to anyone but Him alone, and to treat yourself with the ruqyah and the lawful supplications found in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and to take from the permissible medicines what may be a cause of your healing by the permission of Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
