Does one who seeks nearness to the jinn by belief perform Hajj on their behalf?

Fatwa number ( 20076 )
Q: I have a mother who is eighty-five years old. She says that her deceased mother bequeathed to her to perform Hajj on her behalf. However, this mother was among those who sought nearness to the jinn by slaughtering animals, believing that whoever seeks their nearness is safe from their harm,
and whoever is rejected by them is harmed by them. This was due to complete ignorance of religious matters. Is it permissible for her to carry out this bequest? And is it permissible for her to supplicate for mercy for her, given the situation described?
A: If the reality is as described, that your grandmother died while slaughtering for other than Allah, then she is a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah). It is not permissible to perform Hajj on her behalf, nor to supplicate for her, nor to seek forgiveness for her. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[At-Tawbah 9:113] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of Hellfire.
