Q: I place in your hands a booklet whose author named it: (The Great Divine Prayer). I found some matters in it strange, so I hope you will be kind enough to review it and clarify the ruling on this method, the ruling on printing this booklet, and the ruling on distributing and publishing it.
A: After reviewing the aforementioned book, it became clear that it contains matters of shirk (associating partners with Allah) and others of bid'ah (religious innovation). Among the supplications of shirk is its statement: "O Allah, send blessings upon the one who is the relief of those who seek relief." As found on pages 71, 85, 87, and 88. And its statement: "So please be pleased with us, O Messenger of Allah, seek forgiveness for us, and intercede for us with your Lord." As found on page 77. Among the supplications of bid'ah is its statement: "O He who knows my condition, You suffice me from asking" — which is repeated many times. And its statement: "Send blessings upon our master and our lord Muhammad according to the greatness of (There is no god but Allah, Glory be to You, indeed I was among the wrongdoers)" — which is repeated many times. And its statement: "O He who cannot be described as standing or sitting, nor moving or being still." As found on page 32.
And its statement: "And that You gather me with him — meaning the Messenger — (peace and blessings be upon him) — in waking and in sleep." As found on pages 64 and 84. And its statement: "By the secret of the secrets of al-Fatihah to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his household, with the intention of acceptance." As found on page 68. And its statement: "O He who, when a lover of You believes in You with the greatness of Your status and Your position with Allah the Exalted, with sincere intention, he attains all that he desires; O He who, when a sincere believer turns to You with Allah in the answering of his supplication and his asking, Allah accepts it." As found on page 72. And its statement: "O Allah, I am standing before Your Prophet and Your Beloved, my master and my intercessor, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), turning to You through him. O Allah, I turn to You through Your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy. O my master, O Messenger of Allah, I am turning to my Lord through You in my needs so that You may fulfill them." As found on pages 78-79. And its statement: "And were it not for you — meaning the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) — Allah would not have created the earth or the sky. How could it be otherwise, when were it not for you, Allah would not have sent the prophets." As found on page 73. This is an exaggeration (ghuluw) that is not permissible to believe regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Attached to the end of the aforementioned book are some images of reports attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), some of which are certainly lies, and some of which require evidence for their authenticity. Based on the foregoing, it is not permissible to rely on the aforementioned book; because it deviates from the truth and contains what is an encroachment in supplication,
and Allah the Exalted said:[Al-A'raf 7:55]. It is obligatory for the Muslim in this act of worship (supplication) to adhere to the pure Shari'ah and not to innovate in it. The supplications found in the Qur'an and Sunnah, and the permissible supplications free from encroachment and innovation, are sufficient without such books and pamphlets. Since the aforementioned book contains what has been mentioned above, it is not permissible to print it, nor publish it, nor sell it, nor distribute it; because that is cooperation in sin and error, and calling to bid'ah (religious innovation) and exaggeration regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says: [Al-Ma'idah 5:2]. We ask Allah to rectify the conditions of the Muslims, and success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his companions.

Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors.
ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَbut do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.
وَلاَ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
