Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: (Indeed, he saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord)]
Then He, the Exalted, said: [Surah al-Najm: 18] The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) saw, (Indeed, he saw) and you, my Muslim brother who reads the Qur'an, come across this expression constantly, (Indeed, he saw) , [Surah al-Balad: 4] , [Surah al-Mu'minun: 12] and so on, many examples,This sentence, the scholars say: It is affirmed by three types of affirmations: the first: an implied oath.
And the second: The lam.
And the third: Qad.
Because the meaning of (wa-laqad) is: By Allah! Indeed, so the sentence is affirmed by the oath, the lam, and qad, and the oath is implied but the context indicates it.
(And he saw) means: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), [Surah al-Najm: 18] The verse: it is the sign specific to its meaning in which no one shares it, otherwise it would not be a sign, it would not be a verse, so the verse must be specific to its meaning, so not every sign is a verse, but rather it is the one that is specific to its meaning, so what the Prophet (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) saw of the signs of Allah is great and immense,And his statement: (The greatest) It was said: it is the second object of saw [Surah al-Najm: 18] .
And it was said: That the greatest is a description of His signs,And the meaning is: That he saw of the great signs of Allah.
And the second is more correct and closer,Meaning: That he saw of the greatest signs of Allah what he saw, and it is not that what he saw was the greatest thing, but rather there may be something greater that we do not know.
And the conclusion: That the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) saw in this ascension of the great signs of Allah what he had not seen before, and what no human being can bear, if we saw a great tent of a king of kings we would be amazed and astonished and we would look to the right and left, but the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) did not change his mind or his balance, but he was in the best state of balance, otherwise he was taken by night from the Sacred Mosque; from the stone at the Ka'bah -and the stone is part of the Ka'bah- to the Holy Mosque a journey of a month or two months? Two months, in an instant; because he rode on al-Buraq, and al-Buraq is a great, strong, fast-stepping creature, the length of its stride is the length of its sight, and very fast, it reached there and he prayed with the prophets and then he ascended him to the sky; and how far is the sky from the earth? Very far, then from one sky to another,And he receives it, the angels ask him, they say to Jibril: Who is with you?He says: Muhammad, was he sent to him?He says: Yes, then he greets some of the prophets in the heavens and then the prayer is made obligatory upon him and he goes back and forth between Allah and Moses, all this while he is steady of heart (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him).
And this is a real thing, he himself (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) ascended, and for this reason when he came and told the people the next day, Quraysh denied it; because they deny what is not possible in their minds, and denying what is not possible in the mind is not specific to the disbelievers of Quraysh, but even among those who claim to belong to this nation, they denied some of the attributes of Allah that Allah affirmed for Himself; because in their claim it is not possible in the mind.
Quraysh denied this ascension, have you seen if it had been a dream, would Quraysh deny it? They would not deny it; because dreams may contain such things, but it was a tangible, real matter, the Messenger (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him) was taken by night with his body and he ascended in one night, and all these things that happened happened and then he returned to the earth, and he prayed the dawn prayer in Mecca (may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him).
[An-Najm 53:18] And in this is an indication that the signs of Allah the Exalted include the great and those less than that, we do not say and the small; because the greatest is a name of superlative,And the one who is wrong is the one who said among the later exegetes: That the greatest is a name of the doer, rather it is a name of superlative; because the signs of Allah the Exalted are either great, or greatest and most immense, so the ascension that happened is undoubtedly from the greatest and most immense signs.
Then He, the Exalted, said:
He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
لَقَدْ رَأَى مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَىWe have certainly created man into hardship.
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍAnd certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلالَةٍ مِنْ طِينٍAnd the second: The lam.
And the third: Qad.
Because the meaning of (wa-laqad) is: By Allah! Indeed, so the sentence is affirmed by the oath, the lam, and qad, and the oath is implied but the context indicates it.
(And he saw) means: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him),
of the greatest signs of his Lord.
مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِ الْكُبْرَىHe certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
