The Slaughter of a Polytheist

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The seventh question of Fatwa No. ( 4246 )
Q 7: Who permits the slaughter of a polytheist while arguing with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
So eat of that [meat] upon which the name of Allah has been mentioned, if you are believers in His verses.فَكُلُوا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ بِآيَاتِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ
[Al-An'am 6:118]
and saying: This verse does not need interpretation, and he persists on this verse and has not heard the opinion of anyone after, does he become a disbeliever?

A 7: One who permits the slaughter of a polytheist who commits major shirk (associating partners with Allah) because he mentions the name of Allah over it is mistaken, but he is not a disbeliever due to the presence of shubhah (a doubtful matter), and he has no proof in the verse; because its generality is specified by scholarly consensus on the prohibition of the slaughter of a polytheist, and it is incumbent upon one who is capable of explanation and knows this to guide him.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
