The Slaughtered Animal for the Commemoration of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) Birth
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 8487 )
Q1: Is it permissible to eat from the meat slaughtered for the commemoration of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) birth , and is it considered as what was dedicated to other than Allah, or not?
A1: It is not permissible to eat from what is slaughtered to revive the commemoration of the birth of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); because it is of the same kind as what is dedicated to other than Allah. Of this kind is what is slaughtered in a place where animals are slaughtered for other than Allah, and likewise what is slaughtered in a town when a king or a dignitary passes by, for example, in an airplane in its sky, in honor of his passage. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
