A person paying from his wealth to ward off the evil of an oppressor who intends to kill him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17941 )
Q1: There are young Muslims here who have commercial businesses, but criminals come to them and threaten them, either by burning their property or killing them if they do not pay them some money. Is it permissible for them to pay this money, especially since these gangs or these criminals are even beyond the government's control? Because they possess a lot of weapons.
A1: There is no harm in a person paying from his wealth what wards off the evil of the oppressor
who intends to kill him if he does not pay him something from his wealth, if it cannot be repelled except by that. And it is not permissible to take it, because taking it is taking without right. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
