Fatwa number ( 14753 )
Q: WhereI have a daughter, and I want to marry her to my nephew, but the boy was breastfed by his grandmother, and his grandmother was sixty years old ،
and the grandmother says that what came out of her breast was like water, and when the boys grew up and she saw them, out of her love for them she said that nothing came out of her breast, and since she has not had her menstruation for more than ten years, I request a fatwa: Is it permissible for my brother’s son to marry my daughter or not? May Allah reward you with good.
A: No action is based on the breastfeeding mentioned, and there is no harm in marrying your brother’s son to your daughter; because the grandmother admitted that what came out of her was water, not milk, and because she denied that anything came out of her afterwards. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
