His manager assigned him to a post without a specific task for his personal benefit

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 21212 )
Q1: I was assigned to an official task by my direct manager, who has the authority to make such assignments within the limits of his jurisdiction. This assignment did not require me to leave my original workplace, and I did not undertake the task. The intention behind it was to reward me for my excellence and discipline in work, as the manager had no other way to reward me. My manager’s direct superior is aware of this honor. What is your opinion on this? If it is not permissible, what is the way to dispose of this amount, given that I have already spent it and my workplace will not recover the amount from me?
A1: It is not permissible for your direct manager to issue an assignment decision for you when you have not undertaken the assignment; because this involves lying, betrayal, and violating the regulations established for the entitlement to the money resulting from it. Taking the money in exchange for this assignment is taking it without a legitimate Islamic right. If your workplace does not accept the recovery of the money resulting from this assignment, you should spend it in various forms of charity. Your manager can reward you and encourage your sincerity in your work through lawful means and methods.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
