Giving children an Eid gift
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 20195 )
Q2: We have young children, and it is customary in our country to give them, on the day of Eid, whether it is Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, what is called the "Eidiyyah," which is a small amount of money, in order to bring joy to their hearts. Is this Eidiyyah an innovation, or is there nothing wrong with it? Please inform us; may Allah reward you.
A2 : There is no harm in that; rather, it is among the good customs and bringing happiness to the Muslim, whether he is old or young, and it is a matter that the pure Shari'ah has encouraged.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
