The second question of Fatwa number ( 13332 )
Q2: One of the ma'mum (those praying behind the imam) yawned deeply during the prayer, and upon finishing the prayer, one of the worshippers said: that yawning in prayer without placing the hand over the mouth invalidates the wudu' (ablution), is this correct? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A2: It is prescribed (mashru') for one who yawns to place his hand over his mouth. It is established from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: , and yawning is not considered a nullifier of wudu'. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
