Orphaned cousins and I want to give them some money, but their mother prevents them from taking anything
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question from Fatwa number ( 9218 )
Q3: I have orphaned cousins on their father’s side, and I want to give them some money, but their mother prevents them from taking anything from us, and claims that they are not in need of anything... And praise be to Allah, they receive a salary of 2,700 riyals from the government, which is their father’s pension.
And the question is: Do we bear any sin for not giving to them? I want to give to them for the sake of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) without their mother’s knowledge, and since they are all very young, the oldest being 6 years old, and their mother takes from people she does not know. Guide us, may Allah reward you, to a solution for this problem.
A3 : If the situation is as described, there is no blame on you, if Allah wills, but you should try to maintain ties with them - if that is feasible for you - with appropriate gifts that their mother would accept, and we ask Allah to multiply your reward. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
