Repeated Oath and Vow of a Thousand Fatihs, and the Desire to Break It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 11474 )
Q: I had a dispute with my sister over a matter, and I said, "By Allah, then by Allah," and I vowed a thousand Fatihs that I would never enter her house again. Now, circumstances have compelled me to visit her, for she is ill and lying on her deathbed, and I wish to visit her and see her before she dies. What must I do?
A: It is obligatory for you to visit your sister and to pay the expiation for the oath. The expiation is: feeding ten poor people from the middle of your food, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If you cannot find any of these, then fast for three days.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
