The Slaughtered Meats of the Polytheists' Festivals

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 5401 )
Q 2: Is it permissible for us to eat from the meats slaughtered for the festivals of the polytheists, such as the birthday of Jesus (peace be upon him) as they call it, the Jews and the Christians , if a Muslim slaughters them and they are sold in the markets and bought?
A 2: It is not permissible to eat from the animals slaughtered for the festivals of the polytheists or in their places of innovation, nor to buy them. Abu Dawud narrated in his Sunan: Dawud ibn Rashi narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq from al-Awza'i , from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir who said: Abu Qilabah narrated to me, Thabit ibn al-Dahhak said:
Thabit b. ad-Dahhak said that in the time of God's Messenger a man took a vow to slaughter camels at Buwana and came and told him. God’s Messenger asked whether the place contained any idol worshipped in pre-Islamic times and was told that it did not. He asked whether any pre-Islamic festival was observed there and was told that no such thing was observed. He then said to the man, “Fulfil your vow, for a vow to do an act of disobedience to God must not be fulfilled, neither must one to do something over which a human being has no control.”

And its chain is authentic. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
