The questioner : ... also the hadith
The man who vowed to slaughter camels at Buwanah الرجل الذي نذر أن ينحر إبلا ببوانة
.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : The Messenger asked him
Was there a festival there from the festivals of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance ... such and such, so he said to him, "No" هل كان فيها عيد من أعياد الجاهلية ... كذا كذا فقال له لا
and the apparent meaning of the hadith is that it was not ...
So he said, "Fulfill your vow" فقال اوف بنذرك
..

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : So here, for example, if we say that it is permissible to pray in churches that have images in them

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Were these not places of worship for their people?

The Shaykh : The difference between them is that the Messenger informed about this when people were newly converted from shirk (associating partners with Allah), so he feared that something might enter his heart if he saw the idol that is worshipped or the festival that is one of their festivals. But if faith is firmly established in the heart and no fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) occurs for him, as is the case now, praise be to Allah, then it is permissible for him. Yes.

The questioner : The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said ... the owner ... cannot pray ...

The Shaykh : Yes, this is the intended meaning, yes.

The Shaykh : That is all. There are no more questions after the prayer.
